FAQs

  • What is Pelvic PT?

Pelvic physical therapy (PT) is a specialized type of therapy that focuses on helping people with issues related to the pelvic area. The pelvic floor is a group of muscles and tissues that support important organs like the bladder and uterus (for women).

Pelvic PT can help with a variety of concerns, including:

    Leaking urine or stool

    Pelvic pain

    Discomfort during sex

    Recovery after having a baby

    Prolapse

    Healing after certain surgeries

In therapy, a trained pelvic PT will work with you using gentle techniques, exercises, and education to help strengthen the pelvic floor and relieve discomfort. The goal is to help you feel better and regain control over your body, improving your overall well-being.

  • What to expect at Visit 1?

During your first visit, we want to ensure you feel comfortable and supported. You’ll start by being welcomed by our friendly staff, who will guide you through some forms about your health history and specific concerns.

Next, your therapist will sit down with you to discuss your symptoms, goals, and any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to share any worries or specific issues you’re facing.

Your therapist will then conduct a thorough assessment, which may involve looking at your posture, movement, and pelvic floor muscles. An internal assessment may be completed, but this will be at your discretion and the provider’s recommendation. You always have the option to decline if you prefer.

Based on the assessment, your therapist will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include exercises, hands-on techniques, and lifestyle advice.

By the end of the visit, you’ll have a clear understanding of what to expect in future sessions, along with any exercises or tips to try at home. Remember, your comfort is our priority, so feel free to ask questions or express any concerns during your visit!

We do not accept insurance at our clinic. We believe that working without insurance allows us to provide the best possible care tailored to your needs, free from the constraints and expectations that insurance companies often impose.
